He was a photographer ( Photo-Journalist , photo-reporter ) , he covered indochina vitnams wars in 50’s
then become a part of the ( french new wave ) with Jean-luc Godard ,
french new wave is simpley get out of the classics .. with cheap budgets , simple equipment .. and shooting outside of studios
it was an experiment for Raol Coutard because he is not a real cinematographer
with cheap budget , he invented his way of lighting ( it was very modern and sometimes over exposed But soft )
